Loved reading this, Jackie! Roy and I both always say that choosing to adopt our daughters was the best decision we have ever made in our lives. Without our daughters, we would feel hollow, as if the insides of us were void of any substance. I know you both feel the same thing. I wish more people could understand as we do how precious and unique each child is. It appears that your friends understand this as well. You have wonderful support from those around you. They are as much family as anything. God is blessing you on a daily basis times a thousand fold!

I am so excited for the three of you! It might be hard at first but you will be together! I know you have others to lean on, but if you need any help in China or when you get home... please don't hesitate to contact me. My sister's and my kids are all older now (all 5 have been home longer than they lived in China) but we remember the adjustment period ups and downs. :).

Don't worry about the critics. I've actually had people say or write that they could never understand how someone could raise someone else's kid. But the child becomes your child when they are looking to you for their needs to be met. You will create a bond that will live on. Recently, both our daughters had to do "About Me"" projects to tell something about themselves. Kenzie called us her "awesome" family, and Richelle said she loved spending time with her family. Nurture those feelings always. We are so blessed to have our daughters... And soon it will be your turn.

How great that you sent her a care package. We did this for both our daughters, the first time a person from our agency took it with her, the second time I had to send it UPS. Can't wait until you can share her face with the world!

I fully understand your situation - I was in your shoes 7 years ago. My husband and I were about to bring home our second child from China and we had to cut ties with my husband's brothers because of the hatred and racism that was aimed at our children... especially our second child who was not 'perfect' in their eyes but wonderfully made in our and God's eyes. Adoption is a lonely road, but also a joyous one in the end!!

Jackie and Kenny,

As you know we adopted Sarah five years ago at the age of seven from Chengdu China. We too stepped out in faith knowing that the Lord had chosen us to be her parents. During this past five years, I cannot tell you how much we have been blessed by Sarah. And our two grown biological children love her as well. In truth, she has given us more than we could ever possible give to her. Many may not understand why we or you guys would want to adopt and adopt a special needs child, but only those of us to follow the leading of the Lord can experience the incredible blessings that come through adoption. We are very excited for you guys and can't wait to follow along your exciting journey. Sarah has asked to be baptized so we are working through that with her and will look at baptizing her when she and Angela return from their trip. Keep in touch and we will continue to pray for you guys. Keep the faith!

Just got back from RRNC prayer tonight and now looking for your address to send your prayer sheet. Then I stumble upon this which gives greater insight on what you are really going through. We will pray for changed hearts in your family. You two are young and brave souls to adopt and your children and family will be blessed. Hi, Jax and Kenny,

I heard about you from Vickie of Just a Minute, Mom, and I am so excited for you. I only had a little to chip in, but I am so happy to be a part of this. People should not be afraid if they only have a little to give, a lot of us giving a little will add up. What better way to let the Chinese culture know the importance of orphans than to have Chinese adopt and be proud of it! What better way to tell the Chinese of Christ than through Chinese people adopting. I will be praying for you. And if the fundraising is slow, maybe I can give more at a later date. I will be watching!
